Memorial Day

Memorial Day is always a fun weekend. It's nice to get out of the heat for a little bit and enjoy being outside. My kids love spending time in Show Low.
This weekend ended with a scary moment. Jack was hit in the head with a homerun ball. He was playing in the field behind the fence and someone hit a homerun and managed to hit Jack smack dab in the head. Fortunately Jack was okay but it's scary to realize how quickly things can happen.

Kate dancing with her dad. We all went out to dinner and had a great time.

Jack and Kate riding the quad. It scares me when they ride but they have so much fun.

Jack in the hospital. We thought it best to make sure the softball didn't do any real damage. Again so grateful Jack was okay.

Kate's softball

Kate's first season of softball was a fun one. Kate enjoyed being on a team with Keelie and some other friends and she improved. I don't know if softball will be her sport but I'm glad she gave it a try.

Jay's baseball season

Jay's baseball season was a little bit frustrating. He was on a decent team and had a decent coach but they never practiced and Jay would only get up to bat one and on a good night two times. It was hard to improve when that is all the hitting he got. But Jay had fun and wants to play again.

Jack's Baseball Season

Jack's baseball season was an interesting one. In the regular season his team went 3-9-1 and then in the playoffs made it into the championship game. Where they lost to the Cubs, who had not lost a game all season. It was a hard season and Jack was ready to stop playing baseball which made me sad when he got picked to play all stars. What a difference to be on a better team and a little bit better coaches. His team lost in the championship but Jack now wants to play baseball again. Which is a good thing.
