Bermuda

After a hard race for Ryan we needed to recover and what better place to recover than Bermuda. It is my favorite island. The water is so clear and the weather is so nice. It's funny because we went there on our cruise last year and I thought it would be a long time if ever I got to go back. Well we made it happen. Flights were cheap from Boston to Bermuda and not much more to go from Bermuda to Phoenix. We were all over it and had a great time.

Boston

Boston is an amazing city. I am so glad I finally got the chance to go and visit it.
Yes, I did go to Fenway park and watch the Red Sox. I didn't cheer for them but it really made me like baseball. It was so refreshing to see a team play right and to have fans cheer and love their team. I am glad I got the chance to go. The Red Sox did beat the Orioles 4-2 and the Big Papi, David Ortiz, hit a homerun. Again it was so fun to see a good team and to see fans love their team.
We also went to Lexington and Concord. The start of the Revolutionary War. I love history so it was great to read and see where America started. I am always amazed that we won the Revolutionary War. Clearly Heavenly Father had his hand in it. I am so grateful I get to live in this country. I read about other countries and how women are treated and how girls can't go to school and I know I am blessed. I could have spent all day reading about the history of Boston. I guess I will need to go back.
We also took a duck tour and ate lots of good food.

At Fenway Park, we sat in Tag Romney's seats and even got to sit by him. Yes, we are big stuff, not really Greg Davis know him and we know Greg. Friends in high places.
Love the photo bomb by Ben Lesueur in the bottom picture.

Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon

What an incredible experience. Ryan said it was the best race ever and he was so happy he had a chance to run the Boston Marathon, especially after the 2013 bombings. What a cool city Boston is and I was amazed at how much the people in the city love this marathon and how "Boston Strong" they really are. The atmosphere surrounding the marathon was electric. The people all cheered and loved the runners. Ryan swears he ran at least 27 miles, not the 26.2, since he swerved all through out the race giving the spectators high fives. He said the entire race had people lined up cheering him on. I am so happy for him and amazed that he can qualify for this race. His pace to qualify is just over a seven minute mile for 26.2 miles. Way too fast for me but Ryan did it and so glad he did.
Boston Marathon time: 3:46:27

Easter

Ryan and I were in Boston for Easter so we were not able to see our children. It was a weird day but I am thankful Jackie took pictures and took care of my kids on Easter. I think they are the cutest kids ever.

Kate's tooth (teeth)

Kate lost her first tooth well teeth. She lost two in one day. The tooth fairy was happy to only make one trip so she got $5. One tooth she lost at church and the other I pulled out. The teeth had been loose for awhile and needed to come out since the permanent teeth are already growing in. I can't believe my baby is losing teeth. Crazy how fast they grow.

Spring Break

Spring Break was great this year. We didn't have anything planned but it turned out to be a good week. It started on Wednesday because for some reason Mesa Public Schools gets our early on Wednesday and then the kids go back to school on Thursday and Friday. It makes no sense but it is what it is. So I subbed that Wednesday at Discovery Club Preschool and there was a reptile guy so I took my kids to see a giant python and lizards and snakes. Jay thought it was so cool. Jack did too but Jay was thrilled with all of the reptiles. Now my boys are wanting a snake and I keep saying no way José.

On Saturday we took a hike with the Bartletts and I saw my first ever Gila Monster in the wild. I was ecstatic to say the least. I have always wanted to see one and finally I did. I enjoy hiking with my kids and hope that they always want to be outside and active.

Monday, Julie came into town, all the way from Queen Creek, and we hiked the wind caves. The boys became ninjas and had such a blast hiking with each other. We saw the fountain in Fountain Hills go off and since it was St. Patrick's day it was green. It was so nice to go Kate's pace and I really enjoyed hanging with my dad, Matt and Julie and of course Ty, Wyatt and my kids.

On Wednesday Ryan took the boys skiing. He said the snow was really slushy but the weather was warm so the boys had fun. We need to take them more often and get two consecutive days in. I think the boys would like this and get better.

Since Ryan was with the boys I took Kate to get her ears pierced. She has been asking to do this but we never had the time. Well we had the time so we did. Kate did great. She was able to have both ears pierced at the same time and only flinched a little bit saying "ouch" and wanting to cry but didn't. I can't believe how fast she is growing up.
We also spent some time at the park since the weather is so nice. Kate finally got the monkey bars down and was able to make it all the way across without help and without dropping.

The week ended with the boys doing a football camp at ASU and Ryan and Kate getting to watch practice. They loved seeing Rathen practice and being on the field.

We had a great spring break and I'm glad we were able to stay home and enjoy the beautiful weather. I love this time of year in Mesa.
