Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon

The annual Goodman Grand Canyon Hike is no longer just a bunch of Goodmans. It's a ton of other people but so much fun. This year was an experience I never had before. It rained on us the last 6-7 miles out. The rest of the time we had great weather. We had cloud cover and cooler temps. It made for great hiking conditions until it started to rain and rain and rain. And even then it wasn't until the last 3 miles that I really wanted the rain to stop. It was neat to see the rain coming off the top of the canyon and to think that this is how the canyon was formed. I feel bad for Eileen since only my dad was there at the top to cheer on her completion. They best part of hiking is having everyone cheer for you in the end and then getting ice cream. We got none of that but we did get the sense of accomplishment that comes from hiking 24 miles in 11 1/2 hours. With the last 5 hours in the rain.

Bearizona

Bearizona

While we were in Flagstaff for the football tournament we took a trip to Bearizona. I love it there. I enjoy watching the bird show and seeing the animals. Jack got picked for the bird show and learned just how quiet owls can be. We had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Flagstaff Football Tournament

My boys played in a football tournament up in Flagstaff over Labor Day Weekend. It was a great tournament and I love watching my boys play football.

Jay's team did all right. I they went 2-2. They had a good time playing and just being outside with all these boys.
Coaches: Ryan and Kevin Wolfe
Boys: Carter Banks, Carson Campbell, Ashton Adcox, Jay, Brigg Wolfe and Travis Tingey

Jack's team made it to the championship game but lost to a team that had won it all the year before. But the positive thing was that the other team had not been scored on the entire tournament and Jack's team scored 3 or 4 touchdowns on them and actually won the second half. They had fun too hanging out and being outside.
Coaches: Justin Wood and Ryan
Boys: Davis Banks, Isaac Frame, Ezra McNaughton, Jake Platt, Ethan Caldwell, Nolan Wood, Cooper Arnett and Jack

Some great pictures of Jack from the tournament.
