sometimes I wish I were a kid

Sometimes I wish I were a kid. The other day I had Annie over and she and Kate played outside almost the entire time. I went outside to take the picture and about burned up in the two minutes it took to take it. I know when I was younger the heat didn't bother me as much. I am glad my kids still want to be outside even when it's 100 degrees.

On another note, Jay lost his first tooth. I had no idea he even had a loose tooth. In fact the anesthesiologist even asked on Wednesday if he had any loose teeth. I said nope, but apparently he did because on Monday Jay said, "I think my tooth is loose, cause every time I bite my Popsicle it hurts." A couple of minutes later Jay says, "Yep, it was loose, here it is." He had pulled the tooth and didn't even flinch. I am pretty sure he has a high pain tolerance. Which is great cause it was the best tooth pull ever. No drama just a simple "yep, it's loose or was loose."

Update to my update

We are home!!!!!

After a week in the hospital we are finally home. Jay said it best, "it's good to be home." I would agree with him 100%. Let's just hope the medicine works and the infection gets taken care of.

update

We are still in the hospital. Jay had blood work done and it showed he still had an infection so another CT was done which showed pockets of infection. They were too small to drain and in weird places so a pick line was put in for his anti-biotics. Hopefully this works and the infection goes away.
Also on another side note I have learned this too many times now, but be careful what you pray for. Jay does not take any medicine in his mouth. He refuses to and if you force it he spits it back in your face. So, we have been praying, knowing that he would need to be on anti-biotics for awhile that he would take his medicine or that we could figure out a way to get it to him. The answer was a pick line. Which meant another surgery. But now he can get his medicine and hopefully get better. I know the Lord answers prayers and I am grateful for that. I have felt peace and calm throughout this entire ordeal. I know Jay will be taken care of and that he is loved.
Thank you to all who have helped and prayed for him.

My sick boy, Jay

Finally after a week of being sick we figured out what was bothering poor Jay.....Appendicitis. On Monday when we took him to the doctor, she said "he is severely dehydrated and needs an IV. So take him to the ER and they can give him IV and run tests." She also mentioned that it might be his appendix but Cardon's Children Hospital ran no tests and gave Jay a Gatorade and sent him home. So on Thursday when he was still complaining of stomach pain the family doctor ordered blood work. The blood work showed an infection so after a CT scan we knew it was his appendix. Off we went to Phoenix Children's Hospital, because I will never go to Cardon's Children's Hospital again after our horrible experience on Monday, and his appendix and abscess came out. The appendix had ruptured and formed an abscess. Because of the abscess the pain was always on the left side not the right so it was throwing us off. Jay is doing better and we should be out of the hospital by Tuesday and he should be back to his normal self shortly there after.

Happy Birthday to my Jay Jay

Poor Jay he had a bad birthday, he was sick. He has been sick since Thursday and is not really getting better, well a little better. We opened presents, sang Happy Birthday, but no cake or food because Jay is not eating. He has had a horrible case of the flu. In fact we even ended up at the hospital on his birthday. I took him to the doctor and she said get him to the hospital, he is very dehydrated. So off we went only to sit around and have him drink Gatorade. Nothing was done and we took him home. He is getting better and wanting to at least try some food and drink some more. But it has been a rough few days. We will be celebrating his birthday another day.
