March Madness Update

My bracket was totally messed up in the second round. I had Villanova winning it all and they lost in the second round. I had UTEP upsetting Butler in a 12-5 upset and now Butler is in the Final Four. I did not do good. I think my only team left is West Virginia but I can't prove this because Jay colored all over my bracket so I tossed it. It was no good to me anyway. So now we have four teams left, Duke vs. West Virginia and Michigan St. vs. Butler, both number 5 teams. Do I pick Butler now? I don't know I think I just have to go for West Virginia since I think they are my only team left.
I love March Madness!!!

Brookelyn and Ross

Congratulations to Brookelyn and Ross on their wedding. It was beautiful and so is Brookelyn. It has been awhile since I have been to a temple wedding and I loved it. The sealer did such a great job and gave great advice. The ceremony was a good reminder to me about how I need to live and what kind of wife I need to be. There truly is something great about the temple. Congrats again and may your marriage be full of fun and love.

Big and Bigger News, no I am not pregnant

Big News: We got a dog. She is a chocolate Lab named Allie. Yes, I know it is wrong to name a dog a real person's name but that is what the kids decided on. She is sweet and has only pooped in our house once. Hopefully we are still happy with our decision in a few months.

Now on to the Bigger News: I finished my book "Team of Rivals." I am now a huge Abraham Lincoln fan. The man was amazing. He had an amazing capacity to forgive and to work with others. My Stake President gave a talk in stake conference on having a soft heart and Lincoln was a true example of a man with a soft heart. He wasn't taken advantage of yet he knew how to make people work for him. So if you have some time and by that I mean two months or more muscle through "Team of Rivals." You won't be disappointed.

March Madness

It is that time of year when I start to fill out my brackets for the "Big Dance." I don't know who to root for since my ASU team stunk it up in the Pac 10 tournament and didn't make it in. I always try to pick the upset. This year I am picking UTEP over Butler but other than that I don't know. For the record though Jay picked Vermont over Syracuse. I will be very upset if he does better on his bracket than I do. Especially because he uses such knowledge as eany meany minny mo, like my guesses are better. I guess I will just have to wait until April 5th to find out how well or better yet how bad I did. Go Villanova!!! I think that is my pick to win it all. I am already 0 and one I picked Winthrop to win the what if game.

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my mom's birthday and I wanted to let her know how much I love her and how much she means to me. She has taught me how to be positive in life even when it is hard. I appreciate my mom and her wealth of knowledge. When I had Jack she was always so helpful in my stress. She would say things like "he will eat when he is hungry." I knew this but coming from her it made so much sense. Thank you for being such a great mom. ILY

Main Street

Totally free entertainment. I have lived in Mesa pretty much all my life and I rarely cruise Main Street. But I wanted to check out a store there so I loaded up my kids and headed out. I need to go more often. Jay and Kate loved all of the statues and it was fun to see Main Street. There are some cool stores and restaurants all downtown. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and all totally free (except the $7.00 I spent on cookies at Sweetcakes).

Too funny

I stole this picture from a friend's blog. I thought it was too funny and I wanted other people to see it. I hope you to get a laugh out of this, and I hope Jen doesn't mind. Remember not to pray because heaven forbid you get a correct answer and have to do something about it. Like join the true church. Tee Hee Hee

mountain dew

Wow, two posts in one day, I need a life. But I was just reading on my cousin in law's blog, Shari, and she challenged the world to no sugar for a month. I am not brave enough to do that so I am giving up soda for the month. I am finishing my last Mountain Dew and then no more until
April 2 or maybe my birthday April 6, that will be a good present. Wish me luck and I am sure the headaches will be coming. Way to go Shari for being such a good challenger.

Spring

It is here. My favorite time of year. The time when you walk outside and the most fantastic scent meets your nose, orange blossoms. Spring is truly a favorite time of year. I love the weather high 70's low 80's sometimes high 80's, spring training baseball, Easter, my birthday, Spring Break, and the best ever, orange blossoms. Every year I smile when I step outside and never want that scent to go away.
Welcome Spring, even if it does mean summer is around the corner.
