California

I love California!!!
Jason and Shelley are so great to let us stay at there house and visit the beach. We spent three glorious days at the beach and got nice and tan and a little sunburned.
The trip consisted of beach days (boogie boarding, sandcastle building, sandcrab catching, riding the ferris wheel, playing in the arcade), good food (who doesn't love TK Burger, Wahoo's, and BJ's pizza), good company (meeting Kelly for dinner, Matt, Rachelle, and of course Jason and Shelley), a trip to Hollywood (because we wanted to see Michael Jackson's star, JK), LA temple (to use the bathroom, not to do a session), lots of ice cream (I think I gained about 10 pounds, but we were on vacation and ice cream is so good) and an all around great time. Thank you again Jason and Shelley for letting us crash at your house. The kids: Jack, Kate, Jay, Kaden, and Tessa

Ry's Tri

Ryan completed the Deuces Wild Olympic Triathlon in 2:37:27. He swam 1500M, biked 24.9 miles and then ran 6.2 miles.
He says he likes this but I just think he is crazy.
It is fun to go and cheer him on and I am sure we will be going to more of these events as the years go on.
Go Ryan!!!!

Bragging

I just have to brag about Jack. He was in a summer basketball camp at Mountain View. Each Friday was soda pop Friday, where they would compete for sodas. Well Jack won a soda every Friday and one Thursday. I am proud of my little basketball player. He learned a lot and loved going to camp.
Jack also won a cool pair of shades. We were at Stapley pool and the pool was having trivia day. The question Jack got right was, "does a tan protect you from a sunburn?" The answer is of course "no." He was the first in line so he won. They are some sweet shades and he will be sporting them all summer long.

Jay

Jay is one funny kid. He has his own grandparents. Jay will start telling me a story about his "own" grandpa or grandma. He always points out that it is not Grandpa Goodman or Grandma Ricedorff or Grandma chicken (Adams) but that it is his "own" grandpa or grandma. I don't know where they came from or how long they will be around but they are here. Sometimes he invents an entire family but mostly it is his "own" grandpa and grandma. I think it's sweet and it is fun to hear him talk and express his imagination.

Safety

My prayers (really Ryan's) have been answered for sure twice this week. We always pray for safety for our little family. Well twice this past week we have seen the benefit.
-One night Jay woke up about two in the morning. I am not sure what he needed because the next thing I hear is "Dad, there is a scorpion but it's okay cause it's dead." So, Ryan gets up and sees a scorpion in the doorway of Jay's room. Jay was so excited about it he just jumped right over it. Ryan killed it (no it was not dead) and Jay went back to bed. No idea what he needed or why he was up. I am just grateful he did not get stung.
-A few nights later Jay is asleep in his bed and we send Jack to bed. Ryan and I are getting ready for bed when we hear a loud crash. We run into the boys room and the top bunk bed has fallen on top of Jay, with Jack on the top of the bed. Jay is underneath and as we lift the bed up Jay gets up walks into my room and wants to lay on the my bed and go back to sleep. He was so mad that he got woken up. He was fine and we fixed the beds and the boys went back to sleep like nothing had happened.
We are truly blessed and I am grateful for our safety and answers to prayers.

Hair

Kate's hair is finally long enough for pigtails and Jack and Jay finally got haircuts. Why is it that my boys can grow their hair long and Kate is struggling growing hers? I swear Jack has some of the thickest, longest hair and Jay's is long and fine. I hope Kate's gets thicker and longer. But right now I am trying to figure out how to keep Kate from pulling her pigtails out. Any suggestions?

I love summer

I love summer!!!
The boys get so worn out from swimming that they will fall asleep anytime. This was a Saturday afternoon and yes, Jay did fall asleep with his legs raised. The best thing about this day was Kate was also taking a nap so I got a little quiet time.
I love summer!!!!
