Ragnar So Cal

 Ragnar So Cal
Cirque de Sore Legs
Crazy fun race from Huntington Beach, CA to Embarcadero Marina Park South San Diego, CA. 195 miles of running with a 12 person relay team.
Kelli Brown asked me about a week before the start of the race if I wanted to do the Ragnar So Cal. I wasn't completely sold on the idea but Ryan was more than happy to hold down the fort so I went ahead and signed on. I am so glad I did. It was so hard and so much fun at the same time. The only person I knew on the team was Kelli but I quickly made friends with the other girls in my car and laughed so hard all weekend. I ran three different legs for a total of 16.5 miles. My last leg of 7.4 miles was the hardest. Mainly because it took me straight to the beach and all I wanted to do was sit on the beach and watch the waves come in. Instead I ran through a bunch a people and up a giant hill to get to the next exchange. Again so hard but so worth the challenge. I am happy I did it. I'm glad Kelli asked me to sign up and I am glad that I am fit enough to have only a weeks notice to run races and able to do it. If I was asked again I would do another Ragnar, even though I ran 3.7 miles at about 3am.
Karen Andersen, Kelli Brown, Harmony Bryce, Dyan, Heidi Andersen, and Jessika Hunter, the girls in my van. So fun and we had a blast.
Right before the start of my first leg, 5.4 miles. It was so hot and had a pretty good hill but I loved being done at the end.
Van #2 at La Jolla Beach waiting for Van #1 to show up. So pretty.
Right before my last leg. By far my hardest and took me way too long to complete but I did it.
myself, Kelli, Jessika, Heidi, Harmony, and Karen. We are done with the race and loving our tats.
All done with the race with my medal.
Me and Kelli all done. We had a great time.
Team Cirque de Sore Legs, we finished in 34 hours and 45 minutes. Great times!!!

Birthday and Conference Weekend

I had a great birthday and conference weekend. I woke up on my birthday to breakfast laid out for me by Jay. All I needed to do was choose which cereal I wanted. After my run I chose Cheerios and loved it. Jay is so sweet to do things like this. It was such a fun surprise. After watching a great General Conference session we went outside and laid by the pool and ate nachos. Then we went to Jay's baseball game and came back to sit by the pool again. Later that night Ryan and I went out to dinner and just had a great talk. I am really blessed to have such a wonderful husband who provides so much for me.
The next day conference continued and I really love the talks. I really like that I can get the Ensign and get them on my phone so I can reread them and continue to learn from each of the talks. Between sessions we went to my parents and had beans and bread. I really do love hanging out with my family and just love to laugh and reminiscence. I am truly blessed.

Easter

Easter was great this year. On Saturday we celebrated with the Ricedorffs at Grandma Chicken's (Adams) house. My kids love it over there. They play outside and jump on the tramp and get money. Grandpa Chicken (Adams) gave each of the grand kids $20 and had an egg roll where Jay won $20. Needless to say the kids had a blast. On Sunday we woke up early and the kids found the Easter eggs and got lots of loot in their Easter Baskets. Jack and Jay tried to find Easter eggs at 2:30 in the morning but Ryan put a stop to that. The boys woke up and were ready to go. They said they would have gone back to sleep after they found the eggs but we didn't risk it and send them back to bed. After church, which was fabulous, I love hearing other people bear their testimony of Christ and the Resurrection. It really helps me out and I learn lots from others. We went to my parents and had a blast eating and hanging out. The kids got more candy and loved playing with their cousins. Overall it was a great Easter.

Jay and Jack dying Easter eggs. I went to take the picture and Jay says "wait, make it look like we aren't looking and focusing on our eggs."
Jack, Jay and Kate all ready to look for the eggs and to see what the Easter bunny brought.
Jack, Jay and Kate all ready for church. They are so handsome and beautiful.

My own family on Easter night. I love that I Ryan and I were sealed in the temple and I know that families really are forever and I will be with the guys for eternity.
